Video strings

Let your colleagues tell candidates what it's really like.

Candidates don't believe the careers page. They believe the people they'd be working with. Flipbase turns those people into a video string: short, honest videos, passed from colleague to colleague, subtitled and branded, and approved by you.

Launching in the Netherlands, in Dutch and English.

What I'd love you to tell our future colleagues is…

Passed on to you

“What made you stay here longer than you planned, and why?”

Why we built this

Hiring got faster, shinier and more automated. It didn't get more believable.

Polished reads as staged

Candidates have seen a hundred agency-shot culture films. A glossy one looks like marketing, because it is.

AI made everything sound the same

Generated vacancy texts, avatar presenters and scripted testimonials. When anything can be faked, a real face with a real answer stands out.

The best recruiter is already on your payroll

The engineer who explains why she stayed. The planner who shows his actual Monday. That's the answer a candidate is looking for.

How a video string works

One question, one colleague, passed on.

A video string is a set of short videos about working with you. Nobody has to organise a shoot or chase twenty people. Each person asks the next.

  1. 01

    You record the opening

Start the video string with a short video of your own: who you are and what you're after. Everyone you invite sees it first, and the invitation comes from you by name.

  2. 02

    Colleagues pass it on

Each colleague answers one open question, in a minute or so, on their phone or laptop. Then they hand the video string to the next person. No app, no account, no film crew.

  3. 03

    Subtitles and your brand

What's said becomes subtitles, translated between Dutch and English. You check the lines, trim the start and end, and your logo, colours and name tags go on.

  4. 04

    Approve, then share

Nothing goes out until you approve it. Then share each video by link or embed it in a vacancy or on your careers site.

What candidates see

Meet the team before the first interview.

Every approved video joins your library, with each colleague's team and location. Put the right colleagues next to the right vacancy, so a candidate for the warehouse hears from the warehouse.

  • Share a link to the video's own page
  • Embed it in a vacancy or on your careers site
  • Bring it into your ATS, which we integrate on request

What you get

Finished-looking videos, without a production.

Where AI stops

AI does the chores. People do the talking, and you do the deciding.

What AI does in Flipbase

  • Suggests open questions for a new video string
  • Turns speech into subtitles
  • Translates subtitles between Dutch and English

What it never does

  • Watch, score or rank a person
  • Judge enthusiasm, confidence or fit
  • Generate avatars, scripts or fake footage
  • Publish anything without your approval

Why Flipbase

Video in hiring is what we've always done.

The video string is ours

Other tools give you a recording link and leave the chasing to you. A video string spreads through your team by itself, starting with your own video.

Already inside your ATS

Flipbase runs in eight ATS platforms with 1-click activation. Using another one? We integrate it. Guaranteed.

Built for the people in it

Consent per colleague, withdrawal at any moment, nothing public without approval. Colleagues trust it, so they actually join.

Questions HR teams ask first

How much time does it cost my colleagues?

About a minute per person to answer one question, plus a few seconds to pass it on. They record in the browser on the device they already have.

What if someone doesn't want to be on camera?

Taking part is always a choice. Whoever joins decides where their video may be used, and can withdraw it later through their own link.

Does it work with our ATS?

Flipbase already runs inside eight ATS platforms with 1-click activation, and we integrate with others on request. Videos can also be shared by link or embed code anywhere.

Do we need a video team or an agency?

No. The point is that it isn't produced. A colleague talking honestly into a phone is what candidates believe, and the branding and subtitles make it look finished.

Start small: one opening video, three colleagues.

Record your opening, invite three colleagues, and see what they say. We'll set it up with you, no slides.
