  • What is a Flipbase video moment?

    A short, recruiter-defined question that a candidate answers with a video of up to 60 seconds. The recording is attached to the application and reviewed by your team alongside the rest.

  • Do candidates need to install anything?

    No. They open the link in a browser, record straight from the camera, and submit. No app, no account.

  • How long are the video moments?

    Up to 60 seconds. Keeping it short is part of the point. Watching ten three-minute clips isn't a shortlist, it's a screening session.

  • Can candidates re-record?

    You decide. The default lets candidates re-record a limited number of times, on purpose. Endless retakes erode the authenticity the format is here to protect.

AI and bias

  • Does Flipbase score candidates with AI?

    No. We do not score, rank, or profile candidates. No personality detection, no emotion analysis, no automated yes/no. People watch the video moment, people decide.

  • Why are you against AI in hiring?

    We're not against AI, we're against handing the call over to a black box. When candidates use AI to write applications and recruiters use AI to screen them, the signal collapses. Flipbase puts a short, human moment back into the loop, where decisions actually get made.

  • Do you transcribe the video?

    Only when the recruiter or candidate asks for captions or a transcript. By default the video moment is the artefact, not a piece of text pretending to be a judgement.

  • How do you handle bias?

    By keeping the human in the loop and refusing to disguise opinion as a score. Bias doesn't disappear when you swap a recruiter for a model, it just becomes harder to see and harder to push back on.

Data and privacy

  • Where is the data stored?

    On EU infrastructure. Encrypted in transit and at rest (AES 256, TLS). We sign a data processing agreement before you connect anything.

  • How long do you keep recordings?

    As long as your retention policy says, and no longer. You set the period per role or per workspace.

  • Is Flipbase GDPR compliant?

    Yes. Our data processing terms live at /data-processor-agreement.

Integration

  • Which ATS platforms does Flipbase integrate with?

    Eight platforms ship with 1-click activation: Varbi, Cornerstone, Bullhorn, Ubeeo, Recruitnow, Talentech, CVWarehouse and The Solutions Factory. Other ATS providers (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Greenhouse, Lever, Teamtailor, in-house stacks) take a bit of custom time. We haven't met one we couldn't connect to. Tell us what you run.

  • What does 1-click activation actually mean?

    For our eight pre-built partners, the connection is already shipping. We flip a switch on our side, you authorise on yours, and video moments start landing on candidate records the same day. No engineering, no integration project.

  • Can Flipbase work outside an ATS?

    Yes. The recorder embeds straight into an application form, a careers page, or your own back-end flow. The player embeds wherever you display the candidate. An ATS integration is the easiest path, not the only one.

  • Do recruiters work inside Flipbase or inside the ATS?

    Inside whatever they already use. With a 1-click partner, the video moment and its metadata land on the candidate record in your ATS. With an embedded application form, the recording attaches to the form submission and your back-end picks it up. Either way, recruiters don't switch tools.

  • How long does setup take?

    For 1-click partners, days. For platforms that need custom work, weeks rather than months. The longest part is usually deciding which roles to switch on first.
